“Very soon, we will likely see real outbreaks of measles and other virus thought controlled by vaccination.”

I warned you that vaccinating children against COVID would damage confidence in routine vaccinations. In my article Entirely Predictable: More Parents Don’t Want Routine Vaccination for Their Kids, I wrote that:

For many of us who have witnessed the CDC’s repeated blunders with kids COVID19 vaccines, this result is entirely predictable…I worried that the unyielding push (non-satire note: only 11% of kids are up-to-date on COVID vaccines), to vaccinate kids with a COVID19 vaccine that has never shown reduction in severe disease or hospitalization in a randomized trial at any age (non-satire note: this is false), and certainly not against prevailing variants, was a huge mistake, and would lead the public to doubt all vaccines, rather than an embrace of all… Very soon, we will likely see real outbreaks of measles and other virus thought controlled by vaccination.

Similarly, in my article The CDC Is Breaking Trust in Childhood Vaccination, I explained that:

With its unscientific push to vaccinate all infants and toddlers against COVID, the agency will harm vaccine uptake for more significant diseases…The general trust deficit is more troubling than skepticism toward this particular vaccine, because it could conceivably drive down uptake of other childhood vaccines that we know are more important to children’s health, such as those against measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria, polio, and Haemophilus influenza type b (Hib).

In my article Not the Way to Pull Vaccines Back from a “Dangerous Tipping Point I alone pointed out the “proverbial elephant in the room, COVID boosters” and said:

Trying to convince all people that all vaccines are the same is probably the way to make people reasonably skeptical of some vaccine be unreasonably skeptical of them all.

Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

There was an ‘alarming’ nearly 45-fold increase in measles cases in Europe last year.”

Sadly, you ignored my pleas.

Now look at the news. The UK initially refused to vaccinate children against COVID and is not offering them boosters presently. It even encourages parents send sick children to school. Despite these wise, compassionate policies, they too are paying the price for the CDC’s unyielding, unscientific push to vaccinate children. According to a recent article titled UK Disease Agency Declares National Incident as Measles Cases Soar:

Latest figures from the UKHSA show that the uptake of the MMR vaccine is at its lowest level in more than a decade, with 84.5 percent of children having had two doses by the time they were five years old in 2022-23. And the number of measles cases has jumped, too. In 2023, there were 1,603 suspected cases of measles in England and Wales, an increase from 735 in 2022 and 360 the year before.

That’s not all. Another recent headline read, Whooping Cough Vaccination Urged As Cases Rise Rapidly In Wales.

It gets worse still. Sadly, CDC’s damage is not confined to the UK. According to an article titled Alarming 45-fold rise in Measles in Europe – WHO:

There was an “alarming” nearly 45-fold increase in measles cases in Europe last year, the World Health Organization (WHO) says. Health chiefs are warning that cases are still rising and “urgent measures” are needed to prevent further spread. Some 42,200 people were infected in 2023, compared to 941 during the whole of 2022. The WHO believes this is a result of fewer children being vaccinated against the disease during the Covid pandemic…

Speaking about the situation in Europe, Dr Hans Kluge, regional director at the WHO, said: “We have seen, in the region, not only a 30-fold increase in measles cases, but also nearly 21,000 hospitalisations and five measles-related deaths. This is concerning. Vaccination is the only way to protect children from this potentially dangerous disease.”

I don’t want to say “I told you so,” because even I underestimated the power of the CDC’s repeated blunders with kids COVID vaccines. Their maleficence has crossed the Atlantic, poisoning confidence in vaccines across an entire continent. One typical father in Kazakhstan, the most heavily hit country during this measles outbreak, said in a recent interview:

I was perfectly willing to give my child the measles vaccine, but decided against it thanks to the CDC’s unyielding, unscientific push to vaccinate children against COVID.

Another mother in Russia said:

If only the CDC had run a randomized double-blind placebo-controlled trial that was adequately powered to demonstrate a reduction in severe disease or hospitalization for COVID, I’d now be vaccinating my kid against measles.”

To repeat, I did warn you that the unyielding push to vaccinate kids with a COVID vaccine that has never shown reduction in severe disease or hospitalization in a randomized trial at any age and certainly not against prevailing variants, was a huge mistake. Anyone who knows anything about the anti-vaccine movement, knows anti-vaxxers change their minds when shown robust data from randomized-controlled trials showing that vaccines are safe and effective.

For children, getting sick and recovering is part of a natural and healthy life.”

In contrast to the CDC, one group of people who have zero responsibility for the increase in vaccine-hesitancy are doctors who said to parents:

When it comes to infectious disease, normality means a world where they are routinely exposed to, and overcome, viral illness. For children, getting sick and recovering is part of a natural and healthy life…Parents must consider that exposures are how we best protect our children against the variants of the future. In fact, it is reckless to let children age into a more serious encounter with a disease best dealt with while younger… Immunity is built through illness.

Nope, highly-credentialed doctors at prestigious universities who deluged with parents with this message throughout the pandemic have nothing to do with declining vaccine rates. Similarly, doctors who treated abnormal lab values after vaccination as a fate worse than death and wrote articles titled Public Health Should Lose Your Trust are totally blameless. Anyone who suggests otherwise knows nothing about the anti-vaccine mindset.

Bivalent COVID Vaccine Very Effective Against Severe Illness In Children, Study Concludes.

It’s ridiculous, but vaccine zealots argued that providing parents with accurate information about pediatric COVID and the pediatric COVID vaccine would boost confidence in all vaccines. These are the kind of people who wrote about the anti-vaccine movement before the pandemic and now point out that COVID killed more American children than all other vaccine-preventable diseases combined the past 4 years. They insist on sharing research that I don’t want to be true. Some recent examples include; Risk of Death 3 Times Higher In Brazilian Kids With COVID-19 Than With Other Respiratory Viruses, Study Finds and Bivalent COVID Vaccine Very Effective Against Severe Illness In Children, Study Concludes.

These idiots owe me an apology. However, I’m not the one suffering from the CDC’s unyielding, unscientific push to vaccinate children against COVID. Children across Europe, sick with the measles, are paying the real price.
