First, a baby died in New York. Then a 21-year-old woman died in Pennsylvania. After that, another baby died in Wisconsin. That’s the toll from measles this week alone, though of course death is not the only bad outcome from any virus, and things will only get worse unless something drastic is done soon.

While those tragedies were happening, our bumbling MAHA medical establishment, Drs. Jay Bhattachraya and Martin Kulldorff, were once again on a stage, patting themselves on the back, desperately trying to relive their glory days of 2020.

That’s totally unacceptable.

Now is the time for these doctors not to reminisce about the Great Barrington Declaration (GBD), but rather to enact its glorious principles of focused protection. When COVID raged, they boasted of their “many creative ideas for protecting the vulnerable,” and in the FAQ section of the GBD they said:

During high transmission times, older people should be offered home delivery of groceries and other essentials.

That’s a great idea, and in addition to enacting other measures contained in the GBD, Drs. Bhattacharya and Kulldorff should now offer home delivery of groceries and other essentials in areas where measles is spreading.

Previously, these doctors blasted their predecessors for not doing everything they “called for”. They made it all sound so easy. To pick one example amongst many, in 2021 Dr. Bhattacharya said:

The public health community that I know has all kinds of creative ideas of how to help people in a population be protected against disease. They’re very creative generally in thinking of ways to do focus protection for many, many diseases and conditions. The reaction of… many people in the public health community was to just to throw up their hands and say, “We can’t do it.”

“We could have offered free DoorDash to older people. I mean, yeah, it would depend on the community and the living circumstances… It would be a local thing, right?,” Dr. Bhattacharya added.

Drs. Bhattacharya and Kulldorff are now the pinnacle of the public health community. I am calling for them to protect the vulnerable from measles they exact same way they called for their predecessors to protect the vulnerable from COVID.

They have both the opportunity and responsibility to dazzle us all with their creative ideas and show us how it should have been done six years ago. If they can’t or refuse to do this today, that shows the uselessness of their precious Declaration back then, does it not?

Currently, they are just throwing their arms up in the air and saying, “we can’t do it.” The price of their incompetence and indifference will be more dead, suffering children.
