As SBM readers know, Dr. Martin Kulldorff is a laptop class doctor who rose to fame by spreading fake statistics in order to mass infect people with a dangerous, new virus. Since obtaining power under MAHA, he has furthered his pro-infection agenda, authoring a memo slashing the vaccine schedule.
Dr. Kulldorff recently returned to his safe place, a stage, to talk about his favorite subject, lockdowns. During the Orwellian-titled NIH Scientific Freedom Lecture Series, hosted by his fellow disinformation superspreader Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, Dr. Kulldorff spoke to an audience of dozens about threats to science. Presumably he did not mention his fondness for sharing guillotine pictures on social media.

According to a report on the speech, Dr. Kulldorff hit upon a familiar theme- lockdowns from 2020 are to blame for measles outbreaks in 2026.
It is true that COVID forced pediatricians’ offices to close for a few months back then, though it is absurd to imagine that even if they could have remained open, parents would have rushed to vaccinate their children against measles while corpses were being forklifted into giant refrigerated trucks.
Furthermore, any parent who wished to vaccinate their child has had 6 years to do so, and many recent victims of measles either weren’t alive in 2020 or were old enough to have been vaccinated long before the pandemic. Nonetheless, Dr. Kulldorff blame lockdowns for their tragic fate, and this is not the first time MAHA/MAGA doctors have embraced time-travel to blame COVID mitigations for vaccine-preventable diseases.
This is also hardly Dr. Kulldorff’s only absurdity on the topic. As MAHA was ramping up two years ago, he wrote an article titled The Cure for Vaccine Skepticism that said:
The only way to restore public trust in vaccination – which has taken a big hit since the lies attending the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine – is to put a well-known vaccine skeptic in charge of the vaccine research agenda. The ideal person for this is Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has been nominated to lead the Department of Health and Human Services…
We won’t restore vaccine confidence by preaching to the choir. After the COVID debacle, Kennedy’s stated goal is to return to evidence-based medicine free from conflicts of interest. Letting him do that is the only way that skeptics will trust vaccines again, and those of us who trust vaccines have no reason to be afraid of that.
Dr. Kuldorff wrote such nonsense even after Kennedy had traveled to Pennsylvania, the center of the worst outbreak today, to spread his anti-vaccine disinformation.
Since then, in his role as HHS secretary, Kennedy has said the MMR kills children.
You won’t learn any of this from Drs. Kulldorff, however. He’ll be forever stuck in 2020, always blaming others, eager to absolve himself of his main contribution to the world- children suffering needlessly.
