Previously, I published 13 thoughts on Dr. Vinay Prasad’s “leaked” memo, which alleged the COVID vaccine killed at least 10 children. Dr. Prasad hasn’t produced a shred of evidence to support this claim, which if taken at face value, means the FDA is currently hiding the evidence while allowing a deadly product to remain on the market. It’s everything anti-vaxxers have been crowing about for decades. As such, I would like to share 6 more thoughts on this topic.
1. A Timeline Review.
- July 2023: Although he was just a Fox News commentator at the time, Dr. Marty Makary said that “One thing RFK Jr. did is he would post true stories of children who died immediately after the vaccine. These were otherwise healthy children.” This was false. In reality, RFK stole pictures of unvaccinated children who died from other causes to sell his anti-vaccine propaganda publications.
- September 2025: Dr. Marty Makary, now the FDA commissioner, claimed that the COVID vaccine killed children in an interview on CNN and promised a report would be released “in a few weeks.” No report is released.
- September 2025: News organizations report that “Food and Drug Administration officials plan to present data they claim links the Covid vaccine to 25 deaths in children at what’s expected to be a closely watched vaccine advisory committee next week, a source confirmed to NBC News.” This presentation on 25 dead children does not occur.
- November 2025: Stat News published an article titled How Two FDA Officials, Prasad and Høeg, Seized Vaccine Oversight that said:
She (Dr. Tracy Høeg ) pointed to a recent label change that required vaccine makers to warn of the risk of myocarditis for young men. And she displayed about two dozen reports of young people who had died after getting the vaccine, found in the agency’s adverse event database. While such reports do not prove causality, Høeg seemed convinced.
“Timing fits,” read a slide in her presentation, viewed by STAT. “Diagnosis fits. No better explanation found. Sufficient information provided.”
Cautiously, despite fears that they might face retribution, some of the scientists began to push back at Hoeg’s suggestion to effectively take the vaccine away from millions based on thin evidence. One participant described the mood in the room as “quiet horror.” “It was so far off base,” said the agency official, who was not authorized to speak publicly.
When it became clear that no career regulator would stand by the decision, and when vaccine center director Vinay Prasad said the move wasn’t necessary because he had already limited access to the shots, Høeg backed down.
- November 2025: Dr. Vinay Prasad sent a “leaked” memo that said:
The team has performed an initial analysis of 96 deaths between 2021 and 2024, and concludes that no fewer than 10 are related. If anything, this represents conservative coding, where vaccines are exculpated rather than indicted in cases of ambiguity. The real number is higher.
This is a profound revelation. For the first time, the US FDA will acknowledge that COVID-19 vaccines have killed American children. Healthy young children who faced tremendously low risk of death were coerced, at the behest of the Biden administration, via school and work mandates, to receive a vaccine that could result in death. In many cases, such mandates were harmful. It is difficult to read cases where kids aged 7 to 16 may be dead as a result of covid vaccines.
- December 2025: Dr. Makary made the media rounds to support Dr. Prasad’s claim and accuse his predecessors of a cover-up. “You’ve got to be honest,” he said, promising the evidence would soon be released.
- December 2025: Dr. Jeremy Faust wrote an article titled FDA Vax Chief Jumped the Gun on Claims of Kid Deaths From COVID Shots that said:
According to a Dec. 5 post-marketing safety memo prepared by FDA scientists assigned to study the issue, agency scientists concluded that the actual number of deaths linked to COVID-19 vaccines in the U.S. is somewhere between zero and seven…
The final Dec. 5 memo, according to FDA employees with knowledge of the situation, states that under an established World Health Organization (WHO) framework, zero deaths were deemed “certain” to have been caused by COVID-19 vaccines, two were judged to be “probable/likely,” while five were “possible.”
Probable/likely cases are those determined to have been “unlikely” due to another cause. But for the “possible” category, an alternative explanation was determined to have been equally likely, meaning that the chance that vaccines were responsible for those deaths was 50-50 at most.
From this, it appears that the real number of deaths that FDA officials have linked to pediatric COVID-19 vaccines might be as low as zero — but probably rests in the range of two to five. This means that Prasad’s memo opened with a number of deaths that is 200% to 500% of the number that the scientists he assigned to study the problem reported.
- January 2026: Endpoints news published an article titled FDA Report Claiming Covid Vaccine Link To Children’s Deaths Misses Deadline that said:
An end-of-the-year deadline the FDA set to share the results of an investigation into children’s deaths allegedly caused by the Covid-19 vaccine has come and gone.
The agency didn’t respond to a question about whether the release date has been delayed and if the report will be made public in the future. The FDA’s plan to release the report is entirely self-imposed, and it wasn’t clear why it hasn’t been made public yet.
The FDA has yet to release evidence a single child was killed by the COVID vaccine.
2. The FDA Has Taken Action Against Potentially Unsafe Treatments.
The current version of the FDA has shown it will not hesitate to take drastic actions based on potential safety signals. According to a recent article Regenxbio Gene Therapy Trials Suspended By Fda Over Safety Worries:
Regenxbio lost almost a fifth of its value Wednesday after the Food and Drug Administration placed a clinical hold on two of the company’s experimental gene therapies. Regulators acted after researchers found a case of brain cancer in a 5-year-old child who had received one of the treatments, RGX-111, four years earlier. The agency decided to extend the hold to the second therapy, RGX-121, because of similarities between the two and “shared risk between the clinical studies,” Regenxbio said Wednesday.
The FDA has not taken any similar actions against the COVID vaccine and in fact, in December 2025, Dr. Makary announced they rejected plans to place black box warning on them. He said:
When it comes to the black box warning, we have no plans to put that on the COVID vaccine. The safety and epidemiology center within the FDA did recommend that. It was a recommendation formally put out. But some of our scientists and leadership, like Dr. Vinay Prasad, have said it may be different today than it was in the first year of COVID when the shot came out. Because when you have those two doses three months apart, that’s when you see the side effects go way up like myocarditis in young people.
So according to Dr. Makary, Dr. Prasad has evidence that the COVID vaccine killed children, which would vindicate his years-long obsession with this topic, but when given power, he personally overruled apolitical scientists who wanted to put a warning label on it. That’s as plausible as his claim that We’ll Have Herd Immunity by April.
3. Prasad’s Sycophants Won’t Care.
Trust in the FDA has justifiably collapsed, and no one can make the affirmative case it’s thriving under its current leadership. There are perhaps 10 doctors, consumed by tribalism and groupthink, who will defend Dr. Prasad no matter what he does. After he “leaked” his memo they said:
- Dr. John Mandrola: Surely the evidence will be forthcoming…I look forward to the details of the investigation. You should too.
- Dr. Venk Murthy: To be clear, I believe there should a proper scientific report backing these conclusions related to vax myocarditis. I have faith that it will come in due course.
- Dr. Anish Koka: Prasad is a prolific clinical researcher , a clinical practicing oncologist and an epidemiologist who quickly climbed the ladder of academia publishing papers about pharmaceutical industry gamesmanship and spoke about regulatory capture frequently. This made him very popular among academic lefties who enjoyed his broadsides against big pharma. This is why he ended up as a professor at the elite University of California San Francisco. The problems for Vinay started when he refused to blindly go along with his tribe on lockdowns and school closures because they appeared to violate basic common sense as well as principles that demand strong hard evidence before administering therapeutics with very real / expensive downsides!! Then when he took the same skepticism he always had towards overly broad therapies from the pharmaceutical industry to the push for the Covid vaccine for everyone regardless of their risk from the vaccine .. he really became an outcast. The truth is Prasad is very smart, very accomplished and way more logically consistent than his former tribe who can best be described as cultists. They hate him because he was the best of them and can’t be dismissed as some random eccentric crank on YouTube. America is very lucky to have him leading an agency that has lost its way.
Though these doctors had “faith” in Dr. Prasad, they’ve since moved on. Today, they aren’t the least bit bothered by his refusal to produce evidence of COVID vaccines fatalities, and without missing a beat, they are vigorously defending both his edict to unilaterally axe the Moderna flu vaccine and his subsequent reversal. In their view, Dr. Prasad is right even when he contradicts Dr. Prasad.
An analogy can be made to Trump’s most devoted followers. Although it was his signature campaign promise in 2016, they were unbothered by his failure to get Mexico to pay for the wall. They correctly knew he was signaling his loyalty to them and his loathing of non-White immigrants. Similarly, Dr. Prasad’s sycophants knew not to take him literally. They recognized that he too was signaling support for their anti-vaxx views and that’s all that matters to them.
4. Prasad and Makary Have Also Moved On.
Drs. Prasad and Makary have also moved on. Neither of them speaks about children killed by the COVID vaccine today. They learned, correctly but unfortunately, that there’s no price to be paid for their absurd predictions and disinformation. In fact, that’s exactly how they obtained fame and power in the first place.
5. Some Quacks are Happy, Others Are Mad.
Quacks like Dr. Simone Gold, the founder of America’s Frontline Doctors who pled guilty attacking the Capitol on January 6th, have used Dr. Prasad’s claim to spread rank anti-vaccine disinformation. This shows the damage of his reckless “leadership.”
Other cranks, however, are furious that the FDA has yet to provide evidence of COVID vaccine fatalities. An article titled about Dr. Robert Malone, a member of the ACIP, titled Federal Vaccine Advisers Take Aim at Covid Shots said:
In an interview with The New York Times, Dr. Robert Malone, one of the panelists, claimed that the Food and Drug Administration was “hiding” data on the risks of Covid vaccination and had refused to share it despite multiple requests. “I am trying to force F.D.A. to come clean on that,” he said.
It pains me to say it, but based on the FDA’s public statements, Dr. Malone is entirely correct. It’s terrifying that Drs. Prasad and Makary are our best defense against his desire to take away COVID vaccines.
6. My Mind Was Open. It’s Not Anymore.
In my prior article on this topic, I bent over backwards to give Drs. Prasad and Makary the benefit of the doubt. Despite their deluge of bogus statistics and disinformation, I wrote:
But my mind is open. Maybe the FDA leaders will surprise me and do something they’ve not done the entire pandemic. If they produce high quality evidence, which is authored by reliable, apolitical FDA professionals and widely accepted by trusted experts, then I will accept it, exactly as I accepted the J&J vaccine killed some people. I will be critical of the FDA officials who missed this important signal. My loyalty is to a process, not an outcome.
Because my loyalty is still to a process, my mind is no longer open. I have seen how this FDA functions, and I don’t trust its leaders at all. In a recent interview about why he left that sinking ship, FDA legend Dr. Richard Pazdur said:
All of a sudden, I was given a press release with a quotation by myself written in it, and asked to just agree to it.
Perhaps the moment this article is published, the FDA will finally release its “evidence” the COVID vaccine killed 10 children. However, I will view it and everything the FDA leaders say with Dr. Pazdur’s warning in mind. So should you.
