His research area is in the molecular biology, genetics and genomics of horticulturally important fruit traits. He has been active in science communication for over two decades, and has been recognized with the CAST Borlaug Award in Agricultural Communication Award, among many others. He hosts the weekly Talking Biotech podcast since 2015. His family farms fruits,vegetables, chickens and pigs in rural Florida. Kevin hates referring to himself in the third person.
